How to play · Xiangqi
Goal
Checkmate the opponent’s general (将/帅). You play Red from the bottom and move first; the computer plays Black.
How to play
- Enter a display name (free, no account).
- Choose Easy / Normal / Hard — each has its own leaderboard.
- Click a Red piece, then a highlighted square to move.
- Palace pieces stay in the 3×3 palace; elephants cannot cross the river; horses can be blocked; cannons need a screen to capture.
- Generals may not face each other on an open file.

Scoring & leaderboards
Same as our other free online Chinese games: Easy 10 · Normal 25 · Hard 50 points per win (plus a small speed bonus). Draws give 1 point.
